LAN An acronym for Local Area Network. LAN refers to a network of computers located within a relatively small area such as a home, a building, or a group of buildings. LANs can be connected to other LANs to form a Wide Area Network (WAN). |

Latching The manual use of electronic access control credential in which one credential read causes a lock to unlock and a second read locks the lock. The lock changes state only after a credential is read. |
