Payment and entry system using smartcard and its read / writer IDTECK provided the smartcard payment system with ECSAT, Croatia for payment system of tollgate.
ECSAT is specialized in development of the tall collectioin systems that provides both "open" toll collection systems and "closed" TCS.
They have installed SR20RW, the 13.56MHz[MIFARE®] Contactless Smart Card Reader / Writer that is designed to program a card. Each tollgate has 2 SR20RW. One is on the upper site for lorries and the other one for general vehicles. Once the driver put their card to the reader, it determindes the trip length, applicable price, checks the account status(positive, low balance, black listed), deducts the fair from the account, and opens the barrier. Its smart card is used as not only a payment system but also an entry ticket.
